1892
The original Abel+Schäfer Walzenmühle GmbH is established as a traditional flour mill in Völklingen, Saarland (Germany).

1958
The family-run Abel+Schäfer company begins to produce baked goods mixes for bakeries under the brand name KOMPLET, and is considered a pioneer in this field.

1967 – 1997
Twenty subsidiaries are established at home and abroad.

1994
A+S BioTec GmbH is established as one of the 20 subsidiaries of the Abel + Schäfer Group. It produces classic cereal flours and various basic ingredients for the food, feed and cosmetic industries.

2006
Investments in future-orientated technologies to gradually diverge from the milling industry

Today
Service provider: particularly contract milling as well as thermal and hydrothermal treatment of natural raw materials.Development, production and global sales of micronised powdered bulk goods and valuable fruits, vegetables and cereals. Target groups: Food industry, cosmetics industry, other technical areas.

Constant expansion of existing facilities and introduction of new products for innovative product solutions in the Services area, especially contract milling, and continuous development of our portfolio.

The family-run Abel+Schäfer GmbH is one of the leading and largest producers of baking ingredients in the world and will remain in family hands in the future as well.
